The folks at Swellnet and ASL are claiming that there is a new big wave spot in Tasmania and it's not Shipsterns. Some seriously big hollow waves. Check it out. Looking forward to seeing some more footage... had a look on youtube but could not seem to find anything yet.

Each year we see the artificial surf park gets more steam. Whether it's the fun-park weak crumbling mush, the Flowrider or Ron Jon's Surfpark it's definitely getting better. I wonder when it will be good enough or what the impact will be on surfing?
The Pororoca is a tidal river wave is generated by massive tides on the Amazon river in Brazil. The wave comes in from the sea and funnels down the river creating a tidal bore.
The wave can be ridden for more than 30 minutes and travel about 12 km.
Sheeesh... one wave and you can probably do more stand-up time on a wave than most folk do in a lifetime
