Summers a comin' Print E-mail

I just thought is was time for a family update...especially now the weather is getting warmer and we all come alive again.

Time seems to get away too fast so lots to tell... Many Jewish holidays have brought the family together lately which has been lovely. And soon summer will be here and the barbie will be out in force - with lunches out on the deck that turn into dinners and followed by a late dip at the beach. The sun changes you - brings out the best in most people. Morning walks to start the day, flowers are in bloom, everyone smiling and saying hello.

I will never forget living in Boston when Spring arrived. The Winter was long and cold (to me anyway!) with a lot of snow and although there was often blue sky, once the flowers started to break through the hard ground everyone suddenly appeared out on the streets. We got to know the neighbours we didn't know existed and rode the bikes down to the Charles River. It was like people were allowed out of their holes to re-emerge from their slumber and hibernation! How happy I was the weather was getting warmer.

So here s a tip for everyone this Spring: next time you are out and about, say hi to everyone, see how infectious a smile can be.

So as for us. Kayla has started Poppy Cottage Kindy now she is three and we have some great photos on the Gallery page. She has an aid Paddy and teacher Jill who are just wonderful with her. She is running, climbing, riding her little bike, kicking a ball and as she only started walking just over a year ago I am pretty impressed by her development. Her words are coming along well, not always clear, but she knows how to get her message across! The medical check ups are less now though we are still seeing the Physio, Speech and Occupational Therapist at Lifestart - it seems all the hard work is paying off.

Asher is trying his best to keep up with Kayla and even teaching her a thing or two about how to tackle the corners of the table while on a bike. We started signing with him very early on, following Kaylas lead and he is now saying so many words, which I am convinced is because his babble was understood early on due to the accompanying signing. I am sure we should get him into acting or modelling - he is so cute with his long blonde curly hair - and such a surfie. One of his favourite words is "surfboard" and he even told me there were "waves" at the beach the other day. Definately his fathers son!

I cannot believe the joy your children can bring you. And my mum keeps reminding me of what a proud Nana she is, so it seems the joy is spread easily. May you all get joy from your families.
