The Ginsburg blog update for February 12, 2007 - a family update...

The Ginsburgs here. To give you a family update - we are all well. Asher is now 9 months old and started clapping, babbling, crawling around everywhere, pulling himself up onto the lounge and coffee table and take a few steps around. He has a great personality - such a cutey and always smiling at people and just starting to get a bit clingy to me as he starts to recognise familiar faces. He loves the beach and eating all the sand, just like his sister and they are starting to have a true brother sister relationship - with Kayla showing her dominance and not letting Asher play with her toys. We just hope she realises it wont be long till he is bigger than her and may push back. You gotta love family life!

It feels like Kayla just started walking though it has been about 4 months and it makes me realise how much hard work we had to put into her development with Down Syndrome so far compared to Asher. She is now two and a half and just advancing in leaps and bounds at the moment. Soaking up everything you can show her. Saying a few words and signing a lot, dancing around the lounge room, playing her beloved keyboard from her Great Granny Jean, going to playgroup and just enjoying the little things in life like watching the birds and reading her books. Her ongoing monthly trips to the hospital now she is in remission after a year since finishing chemo are getting weary but all worthwile as her oncologist says how well she is doing.

Adam is still working for IBM and only in the last few weeks has had to travel to the US for conferences. This is a huge change from the last role where we had to move to Boston for it to all work. As a couple, we have been so lucky living abroad for his work in London and Boston and travelling as much as we have around Europe, Mexico, Brasil and so much more. Then all the holidays to South Africa, Indonesia, Samoa, Hawaii, Borneo, Canada, Nepal - we certainly got around. I would love to keep up the tradition and even go back to work but how life has changed! It all just seems too difficult to arrange the kids and myself! I am sure many more family holidays await us. We are certainly kept busy running around after the two little ones from playgroup to the beach and doctors appointments, but always remembering to stop and smell the roses.

We will keep you updated about us as often as necessary so keep on checking...
