Surfing the Pororoca - catch a 30min Plus wave Print E-mail

The Pororoca is a tidal river wave is generated by massive tides on the Amazon river in Brazil. The wave comes in from the sea and funnels down the river creating a tidal bore.

The wave can be ridden for more than 30 minutes and travel about 12 km.

Sheeesh... one wave and you can probably do more stand-up time on a wave than most folk do in a lifetime

I wonder what folk have to do to train for that sort of wave?

Also, I wonder if a condom would protect you from that fish that can swim up your penis?
