With the Greenhouse issue/Global Warming and gas (petrol) prices sky rocketing, it makes a lot of sense to look to hybrid technology for cars. That said, we do not have too much choice in Australia there are only a handful of cars available today including Toyota's Prius, Honda Civic and a couple from Lexus. We want more choice please...
In the US they have quite a few more available. For example, Toyota, in addition to the Prius, has hybrid models available in the Camry and HIghlander models. Honda has the Accord in addition to the Civic. Nissan and Saturn have hybrid models too. So, if you're buying a new car ask the dealer if there is a hybrid model available, if not check to see if there will be one available soon. The last thing you want to do is buy a standard version and in a few years hybrid models are available which could dramatically affect the re-sale value of the new car you just purchased... not too mention all the benefits for both the environment and your weekly petrol/gas bill. BTW, I was wondering if you can have a hybrid biodiesel car, now that would be cool? So go hybrid!!! Demand it!!! Register (top right) and give us your comments. |
