There are many things you can change around the house to make a difference to the environment...
Simple things you can do for your environment: - Recycle paper, glass and plastics.
- Use alternative cleaning products like baking soda, vinegar, and soapy water.
- Buy energy efficient appliances.
- Don't waste water - get a water tank and plant water wise gardens with natives to encourage local birds.
- Replace old lightbulbs with Compact Fluorescent Light bulbs (CFLs).
- Use recycled paper and refuse junk mail or get it emailed to you.
- Get a compost bin (we have a tumble one that is fantastic and easy!)
- Buy organic or local farm fresh food and beauty products .
- Insulate your home properly and use a ceiling fan instead of air-conditioners.
- Catch public transport whenever you can or buy a hybrid car.
- Turn the lights off when you're not using them.
- Swap home electricity to a GreenEnergy option. Such as Energy Australia green option - apparently this does not cost anything extra and uses green energy. http://www.energy.com.au/energy/ea.nsf/Content/NSW+Green+Energy
- Solar panels on the roof.
